The problem of cultural misunderstandings became wide-spread in contemporary society. A big number of various sexual, cultural or racial groups are now accepted by society. Researchers have defined that cultural identity is a wide notion which consists of demographic components such as nationality, religion, social status, sexual orientation including ethnographic components. The provided research includes abnormal sexuality issues including language, major concepts. This research also reconsiders usage of language and guidelines.
We still can remember homosexuality being a forbidden topic and considered as a divergence of human sexuality. In late 80s it even has been completely removed from the system of diagnostics. According to historical aspects psychologists formed two important concerns about societys attitude to sexual minorities. First of all there exists practitioners stereotyping and the second point is absence of suitable word sampling. The reason of these factors consists in lack of knowledge and the repercussions are depressing.
The first result of the stereotyping and absence of knowledge about major factors of sexual minorities lives is a humiliating attitude. A long list of studies shows that the reason of usual false diagnoses of sexual minorities is psychiatrists lack of skills to differ belonging of a person to one of minority groups, use of personal suggestions, lack of professionalism. Attitude in society influences behaviors of gays and lesbians even though there are other factors in society and economics.
Thats why there is huge necessity in qualified psychiatrists who are aware of factors which influence sexual minorities such as relationships in society, family problems, social hostility. The worst situations are when several factors coincide with each other for example a case when person belongs to both sexual and cultural minorities. Such accidents require professionals handling and effective treatment.
