Needless to say this had the potential to strike a crippling blow to the transport industry and, for many, it did just that. The industry, and Britain as a whole, was simply caught unawares by the difficulties posed by such a nasty winter, and this led to major problems for many businesses, however the transport industry was amongst the most prominently affected. Vehicles were forced off the roads and many companies simply had to shut up shop for a number of weeks, drastically affecting income.
This is something to we simply can't afford to happen again, especially due to the potentially catastrophic effect it can have on smaller businesses and urgent courier services, who rely on their ability to get from A to B quickly. As such we need to ensure that local councils all over the country have adequate salt supplies should we face the same issues in the future. Not only this, but salt supplies need to evenly spread around. We, as an industry, simply can't afford another winter like the one we just experienced and knowing that supplies could have been available in places that needed them simply rubbed salt into the wounds.
Some are attempting to take measures to minimize the impact of this problem. The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has already recommended a number of potential solutions to the problems that the industry faces from a harsh winter. Amongst these are the obvious, such as ensuring there are larger salt supplies available to reduce the time queuing at salt production sites.
Another, less obvious recommendation is to provide drivers with a little more leeway when it comes to their hours. The FTA calls for a greater flexibility in the handling of a drivers time on the road, as well as calling for a modest increase in the amount of time they can spend driving when they are able, to compensate for the periods during winter when they may be forced off the road.
This call, however, comes into direct conflict with recent rulings by the European Parliament (EP). An attempt to permanently exempt owner drivers from the 48 hour week imposed by the EP failed, meaning that soon self-employed courier drivers will now have to limit themselves to 48 hours of working per week, alongside the workforce that they may employ.

Technical Analysis Qualifications, Sta Diploma And Cfte Exams
Anyone searching for a formal qualification in Technical Analysis will end up with two options. Because of the turmoil in the aviation sector, an early decision on allowing foreign carriers to invest in domestic airlines is not expected. Early in the month members witnessed a freestyle motocross spectacular brought to life by Nuclear Cowboyz. For those of you unfamiliar, Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Chaos is the legend of two powerful freestyle motocross tribes, the Soldiers of Havoc and the Metal Mulisha, whose survival in their post-apocalyptic world is told through gravity defying and fearless freestyle aerial feats. The Nuclear Cowboyz mayhem & chaos is literally set in extreme non-stop motion when the tribes are challenged by a dark underworld. Of course, Events and Adventures understands witnessing such an event sparks the desire to ride and later in the month The adrenaline junkies in the Atlanta club had an entire day of ATV Adventures hosted at Durham town Plantation Sportsman's Resort. Durham town has over 8,000 acres of ATV/Dirt Bike marked trails from Beginner to Experienced and Events and Adventures members tore them up.

From the 1970s to present, it was almost as if Roddenberry gave a glimpse of future technologies and how technological advances would help to push civilization forward in pursuit of a better world. Now the dream of what if? has become reality and new technologies come easier, faster, and by some coincidence in the direction for use as played out in Roddenberrys television series.
Roddenberrys intention was to use Star Trek as a platform to play out real life issues under the guise of entertainment. Cultural output is thus seen as a mirror of social and political inputsa reflection of sorts of the fears, dreams, and preoccupations of society. Roddenberrys development of the Klingons and the war like society they came from presented the main characters a challenge of tolerance and attempts at finding peaceable solutions to their mutually conflicting backgrounds and cultural mentalities. As in real life, there were the occasional military conflicts, but the continuing message was to continue working through cultural differences for an understanding and peaceful co-existence.
The author cannot say that Star Trek changed politicians thinking, logic, or motivations, but the impact on the social consciousness is evident as society began to evolve through the 1970s and on through to the collapse of the Soviet government. If the reader was to ask a young person about how the cold war affected his or her life, the author would venture to guess that the respondent would have to ask What was the cold war?. In the years leading to the days of the collapse of the Soviet Union, military tensions remained high between the United States and the Soviet Union, but societys view of the threat diminished slightly over time through the decades that followed the 1960s. Was this because of a shared fear of a mutually assured destruction (MAD) and a developing understanding that the people of the Soviet Union were very much like the Americans in shared hopes and dreams? Could the people of Earth survived without one or the other, MAD or an understanding? In Roddenberrys vision, both opponents, the crew of the Enterprise and the Klingons, were equally capable of destroying the other, possibly with significant losses in the process. But Roddenberrys message was always one of finding a means to peace and celebrating shared commonality.

Again Roddenberry pushed for diversity in his vision of the future. A time in which people of all ethnic backgrounds would come together as equals in a pursuit of knowledge and exploration.

In the second season Roddenberry added a Russian crewmember at a time when the United States was engaged in a tense cold war with the Soviet Union. A unique characteristic about ignorance; it can be coaxed out of existence through exposure to situations that would normally not be observed in common place. Just 25 years earlier, prior to the airing of Star Trek, Japanese Americans were sent to camps with no regard to their innocence or place in society. This action was based purely on a racist preconception by government authorities, who were a representation of the American people.
Perhaps more on the minds of outside observers was that the 1960s represented the birth of civil rights, womans rights, and other minority concerns at the time. In no other media outlet at the time was there a representation of ethnic diversity sharing equal and esteemed roles such as scientists, officers, doctors, and engineers. Added to the kettle of diversity was the weekly interaction with alien races. At times, there would be conflict or a shared hardship, but in the end, the message was the same, understanding and appreciation of the differences between the various races, could bring peace to what otherwise could have been a volatile situation.
The integration of ethnic and cultural diversity that the world now enjoys could never have been forced upon a society. Roddenberrys genius was in his ability to present to the world a vision for a future based on changing how humans as a society interact today. Gene Roddenberry once noted that his inspiration came from concentrating on something about our world that annoys meso that I get sufficiently moved, so that I want to write about how, in the Star Trek world, its done differently. (Brynen, 1999) As society continues to grow and celebrates the shared ethnic diversity, perhaps the advances in technology, that sparked the imagination of millions and changed our world, will help to advance the human race to the stars and beyond. Staying Positive Tip #1 - Your Association
Jim Rohn has an absolutely awesome quote that I live by, "We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with." If you surround yourself with negative, I'm not going to change my ways kind of people, you're going to become exactly like them. Like attracts like. So, the polar opposite applies right! Yes, when you surround yourself with awesome people, you too will become absolutely awesome.
Now, you're probably thinking how can I create new friends that are empowering? In order for anything new to come into your life you've got to make the space in your life. So when it comes to association, it means letting go of previous relationships. Now this doesn't mean stopping contact with the people, it does mean you're going to have to invest more time with the people you want to hang around with.
One of the things I love to do is called The Attractor Factor. Write out on a sheet of paper "My Five Closest Friends" and then vertically write numbers 1 -5. Just leave it blank for now, and set the intention this space will be filled with empowering new people. So basically you've mentally and physically creating the space for "New." Then, every time that you build a great relationship with a new empowering friend, simply fill that space with their name. Please remember this is not about what YOU will get out of this, come from a space of giving and you will have more empowering friends than you can ever imagine possible.
Staying Positive Tip #2 - Being Grateful
Did you know that you cannot think positive and negative at the same time? Staying positive is much more than thinking positive, it's about being in flow and having a great mindset. The best way to replace the doom and gloom negative news is to be Grateful. Whatever you focus on expands, being grateful allows you to invoke so many powerful natural laws of the universe.

Ok, it was $2.75 and while I was eating it I felt totally awesome. It's these little moments of awesome that allow us to feel we are living! Now, I'm not suggesting you eat McDonald's everyday! But do something that makes you feel good internally, so you can get more of that!
