Palm oil, not being a GM crop, makes sense here.
Then you have the distillation issue. Choosing steam distillation over chemical distillation appears like a no-brainer in my experience. Both cost and damage are increased by counting on chemical distillation, leaving steam distillation the clear winner produce. That again points to palm oil because the preferred ingredient for candles. Soy requires chemical distillation, making it again a lower than desirable option.
