The Red Hat Society is an organization for women, usually those 50 years of age or older.
Here are a few do's and don'ts if you are thinking about becoming a member or want to start a chapter in your area.
Do realize that you will form new friendships. Don't join if you don't want to meet new people.
Do plan on having lots of fun. The Red Hat Society women are known for having wonderful parties and many exciting get-togethers. Don't become a part of this group if you are a stick-in-the-mud and are not willing to try new things.
Do be a part of the Red Hat Society if you are 50 or older and are looking for a way to celebrate life. Maybe you worked for years, ran a household and raised a family and now it's time for a little change of pace. Don't join a chapter if you aren't looking for new experiences and a chance to let loose.
Do buy a red hat and an amazing purple outfit if you are ready to become part of the Red Hatters and you are 50 or older. Do buy a wild pink hat and a lovely lavender outfit if you are under 50 but want to get in on the fun. Don't spend your time or money looking for a wild and crazy red and purple or pink and lavender outfit if you are not interested in joining the Red Hat Society.
Do remember that the Red Hat Society does not have many rules or regulations. Each chapter is free to plan any event they want to.
Don't become a member if you need a group that is highly organized and governed by a set of strict guidelines.
The Red Hat Society is a wonderful organization that encourages friendships among women and the freedom to have fun together.
